Sniffy Labs was founded by two college classmates, Howard and Ting, who shared a love for animals and acumen for technology. We originally had an idea for an app that would encourage dog owners to walk their dogs more often by making dog walking more fun. We thought it was a meaningful endeavor, and that was where we started.

After conducting over 400 problem discovery interviews, we learned that regularly walking their dogs wasn’t a problem for dog owners. They very much enjoy it. However, there was a common theme that cropped up during these conversations - many of the owners were concerned about their dog’s behavior but did not enroll them in training classes. Due to the dog owners’ demanding schedules, they often decide to tolerate behavioral issues rather than have their dogs properly trained. We recognized this as a major issue that needed to be fixed. There are about 3 million dogs that enter shelters every year in the U.S. The most common reason that owners abandon their dog(s) is behavioral issues.

We believe that every dog deserves a chance to be well trained and that every dog owner should have access to the tools needed to train their dog properly. We envision a world with better relationships between humans and animals. We believe all animals should live with dignity and have long, healthy, and happy lives.

Hi, we are Sniffy Trainers

I am Greg

Greg grew up with many pets- dogs, turtles, guinea pigs, and even a prairie dog! His formal study of animals started at the age of 16 when he began shadowing several veterinarians. In college, he studied animal behavior, ecology and conservation at Canisius where he discovered his love of behavior and training specifically.

After graduating, he worked at a boarding facility while earning his Karen Pryor Academy training partner certification. From there, Greg moved on to work at the Rochester Humane Society for several years. His job there included evaluating and modifying behavior of all sorts of shelter animals, from dogs and cats to horses, birds and the occasional reptile. His most proud moment from his time at the shelter is organizing and hosting the shelter’s first ever behavior and training conference, which was an amazing success and drew audience from multiple states! Other accomplishments from this time were earning several more behavior and training certifications, including CPDT-KA, AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and Dr. Sophia Yin’s Low Stress Handling.

Greg currently lives with his cat Molly and has a passion for spreading knowledge about animal behavior and training.

I am Becky

Becky grew up with dogs and horses being a part of the family. After her children got older and moved out of the house, she decided to use her life's experiences from working with animals and earn her dog training certification through the Animal Behavior College. In 2010, she became a Certified Professional Dog Trainer.

She loves training dogs and teaching their owners with a balanced, positive approach, understanding that each person/pet relationship is unique while keeping in mind the ultimate goal of dog training - bonding and building a better connection. Becky believes that animals were created to give us an opportunity to learn a great deal about ourselves through our interactions with them...teaching us patience, balance, discipline, love and the value of having a purpose in life.

I am Becca

Becca grew up on a lot of land in a family that raised Labrador Retrievers. After quickly learning that massage therapy wasn’t for her, she started her dog training career at the Animal Behavior College. In 2016 she met her mentor, Becky Rene, and she’s never looked back. Working with people and training their dogs everyday is so enjoyable that she doesn’t feel like she “works” a day in her life now.

Her career with dogs hasn’t stopped at training though. Most recently, Becca trained under another wonderful mentor who has taught her everything there is to know about grooming. She turned her basement into a grooming shop and loves it!
